Kömmerling doesn't say whether its "typical U-value" is Uf or Uw, or which method was used. Its site says to search "Profine" on WERS for certified figures. Acoustic figures are the company's "up to" values, not whole-window Rw test results.

Certified energy ratings (WERS)

962 uPVC product ratings on WERS, with whole-window U-values from 0.7 to 2.7 W/m²K.

Check the exact product. These ranges cover every glass option. Ask your fabricator for the WERS certificate for the frame, opening type and glass in your quote, and check it matches the U-value and SHGC on your NatHERS or BASIX certificate.

Bushfire

BAL-40 (C70 Gold, PremiDoor 76)

"Successfully tested a range of uPVC window and door systems to BAL 40 in 2010", since reassessed to AS 3959:2018. Test documentation available through fabricators; AS 1530.8.1 not cited on the site. source

Under AS 3959, uPVC at BAL-40 needs a system tested to AS 1530.8.1, or a bushfire shutter complying with Clause 3.7 over the whole window. For a tested system, ask for the test report covering your profile, glass and window size. How BAL works →
